It was such an empowering and inspiring experience, especially for us youth under the Prosperity Catalysts Clubs – Eastern Caucus. The event was themed “Harnessing Africa’s Next Wave of Strategies” and honestly, it lived up to the hype!

Held at KwaNandi Restaurant in Eastlea. Harare,Zimbabwe. The event was filled with forward-thinking ideas and business pitches centered on key drivers shaping Zimbabwe’s business use of technology, youth entrepreneurship, strategies in business and inclusive finance. The guest speaker Progress Succes Mahureva brought to light the importance of strategies in business, how business owners should interact with customers and understand clients behaviour . George Neshiri under the Eastern Caucas (Prosperity Catalyst Club) was also given the opportunity to pitch business ideas revealing the purposes of Catalysts clubs and how they help entrepreneurs expand their business and add value to them.

Technology as a Game-Changer:

The speaker talked about the importance of technology as an advertising strategy in business. He encouraged entrepreneurs to display their businesses on all Social media platforms especially Facebook where the majority of the population connect on. He also made a strong emphasis on the importance of displaying prices on pictures for easy communication with clients and customers.

Youth Entrepreneurship Hits Home:

There was a discussion on Youth entrepreneurship especially the inclusion of university students in businesses. This was supported by Tanyaradzwa Janhi the President of the Prosperity Catalysts Club Women’s University in Africa a young female leader who thrives to make ends meet through farming. She encouraged University students to start their own businesses so that they can sustain themselves and help their parents and guardians to raise school fees. The key speaker also encouraged Zimbabwean youth to start up their own businesses as Zimbabwe’s 47.1% youth are hit by unemployment in Zimbabwe and a declining economic system. He kept on emphasising that Youth entrepreneurship can help reduce drug and substance abuse as well as crime rates as the youth will become financially dependent.

Business Strategies That Stick:

This part honestly blew my mind. We talked about how business strategies are everything—they help businesses survive challenges like competition, economic instability, and even online backlash. The key speaker broke it down so well. You have to know:

WHO you’re targeting

WHAT you’re offering

HOW you’ll deliver it

WHEN you want results

And WHY you’re doing it in the first place

He also reminded us that we shouldn’t just focus on selling—listening to customers is just as important. Their feedback is gold. Also, registering your business officially can give you a competitive edge and help you play the game more strategically in Zimbabwe’s legal and policy environment.

Pro Tip: Don’t rely on just one strategy—use multiple strategies to stay ahead and grow your brand.

One of the highlights was seeing fellow student entrepreneurs and women stepping up to pitch their ideas in fields like health, accounting, and agriculture.

Conclusion

The Founders Feast wasn’t just a fancy event—it was a space for growth, learning, and real talk about how we as young people can shape Zimbabwe’s business future. Huge shoutout to The Hustlerpreneurs Network for organizing it and to all the amazing people who showed up to share and connect. I left that place feeling motivated, equipped, and proud to be part of the Prosperity Catalysts movement.

By Felicity Guta.
